Reading Guide

A large amount of online literature is available to provide the reader with introductory material on air pollution and the science connected to this topic. A very comprehensive set of materials can be found at the US Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) site where, in particular, the different air pollutants are described:

• Criteria (NAAQS) Air Pollutants
• Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions
• Hazardous Air Pollutants

Additional introductory material, with emphasis of human health is provided by:

• The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHA)
• The World Health Organization (WHO)
• The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
